Terms

Trial

You can use every feature of SpeechFast free for 7 days, with no account and no credit card. When the trial ends, dictation stops until you activate a license. Your history and settings stay on your Mac.

Purchase

Licenses are sold by Polar, our reseller and merchant of record. Polar handles payment, taxes and invoices, and its terms apply to the purchase. The price shown at checkout includes applicable taxes.

License

• A license is a one-time purchase, with no subscription.
• It lets you use SpeechFast on up to 3 Macs at a time. To move it to another Mac, deactivate the old one in Settings › License.
• Updates to SpeechFast are included.
• The license is personal. You may not resell, share or redistribute your key.

Refunds

If SpeechFast doesn't work for you, write to hello@speechfast.com. Refunds are processed through Polar.

Requirements and warranty

SpeechFast requires a Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or later) running macOS 26. Clean-up uses Apple Intelligence when it is available. SpeechFast is provided as is: speech recognition can make mistakes, so check important text before you send it. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.

Privacy

Your voice and your text stay on your Mac

Transcription and clean-up run entirely on your Mac. Your audio is kept in memory only for the time it takes to transcribe it, and is never saved or sent. Your dictated text is never sent anywhere. It is kept in a local history on your Mac (30 days by default), which you can shorten, turn off or erase in Settings.

What the app sends

• Speech model. The Parakeet model is downloaded once from Hugging Face. Optional engines are downloaded the same way when you choose them.
• License. Only when you activate or deactivate a license: your license key and your Mac's name are sent to Polar. The app never checks your license again in the background.
• Updates. Once a day, the app checks speechfast.com for a new version (you can turn this off in Settings).
• Usage statistics. The app sends usage events to PostHog, hosted in the EU. They are tied to a random identifier, never to your name or email: for example that a dictation finished, how long it took, the engine used, word and character counts, the name of the app you dictated into, settings changes and license status. These events never contain your audio or your text. They help us fix bugs and improve SpeechFast.

The website

speechfast.com sets no cookies. We measure visits and clicks (for example on Download or Buy) with Vercel Web Analytics and PostHog (EU), without cookies or tracking across sites. When you buy, you are taken to Polar's checkout, which has its own privacy policy.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to access or delete data about you, or object to its use, by writing to hello@speechfast.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr).
